a week in pictures

It is said that a picture says a thousand words. And because I am that crazy person that loves to snap photos of anything and everything (sorry hubby, I know it's annoying!) I just wanted to share some of my favourite NYC moments with you. Hope you enjoy x K

1)School children make tributes to this glorious city
2) I love walking past all the brown stone houses in the West Village
3&4) Hubby and I enjoying a cocktail in the sunshine on the roof of our apartment building, with just the best view ever
5) Having my "Friends" moment as I walk past "Central Perk"
6) The Karl Lagerfield Store in the Village was inspirational
7) You can always find amazing things on the sidewalks of Soho, like these random mannequins
8) We had a great brunch at the Chelsea Market
9) One of my favourite stores, Anthropologie, where I stocked up on some goodies for the home

nyc essentials

When my husband announced he wanted to buy me a traditional gift for our second wedding anniversary, who was I to complain? Especially when that gift was cotton. Now if you continue to read my blog (and I hope that you do!) you will soon learn I'm not the type of girl who would think cotton means clothes, or socks or sheets. No no. Boring! And not me! (Yes yes you need sheets, but from your husband? I think not!) So think how delighted I was when a pair of Chanel flat espadrilles made there way into my hot little hands. Not only are they comfy, stylish and oh so fabulous, they will be perfect for pounding the NYC pavement. With less than one week til we set off (I couldn't be more excited if i tried!!!) here's a look at some of the other fabulous things I am putting into my suitcase. (Think go with everything pieces - metallic flats, a statement necklace, dress up or down denim shorts). Who says you can't travel in style? Definately not me! x K

I have always had a thing for ripped denim. Comfy, casual, slightly baggy, very ripped. I love the comments I get when I unexpectedly wear it with amazing heels and even more so when teamed with this fabulous ombre faux fur (which I anticipate will become my favourite jacket this winter!) I'm hoping this trend will stick around for a while as I have my eyes on this amazing ACNE ripped pencil skirt for summer. Sigh! x K
