I'm not sure about anyone else but on these hot summer days I can't think of anything worse than wearing denim. Jeans in particular. But I have a major style crush on these moto inspired Rag and Bone jeans that I'm contemplating sweat and tears (literally) just to buy them and consequently struggle to pull them onto my over heated legs. (And just how amaze do they look with my all time favourite newbury boots that I have lived in since I bought them last winter: seen here and here).

Both tuxedo inspired styling and sports influences are major trends right now, so the classic black and white combo of these are a perfect option. I'm thinking either a classic white shirt, mix and matched with a bold sporty stripe or teamed with the jacket of the season (the bomber!) come winter. Definately on my wish list! x K

memorial day weekend

It's Memorial Day Weekend here in NYC, and while the locals are either at their summer houses in the Hampton's (hello 85 degrees) or brunching in the midst of what seems like a million tourists, I am content to wander and explore the neighbourhood I will call home for the next month or so. Literally down the street from some of my favourite stores like Rag and Bone, Haute Hippie and Vince (not to mention Whole Foods!) I couldn't have picked a more amazing spot to be. I am especially loving the amazing wall art, the gorgeous brick facades with their too cute fire escapes, the fact that there is literally a bar (and Starbucks!) on every corner, and that the best way to keep cool is the never ending criss crossing into the shadows of the tree lined streets. And while the American's say that this weekend is the official start to summer, and therefore your summer wardrobe, I thought nothing says long weekend more than a white summer dress. Add cute flats, an oversized bag and an impromptu 45 minute subway ride to Brooklyn to take part in some memorial day celebrations, and I really am living the dream. Thanks NYC x K   

nyc essentials

When my husband announced he wanted to buy me a traditional gift for our second wedding anniversary, who was I to complain? Especially when that gift was cotton. Now if you continue to read my blog (and I hope that you do!) you will soon learn I'm not the type of girl who would think cotton means clothes, or socks or sheets. No no. Boring! And not me! (Yes yes you need sheets, but from your husband? I think not!) So think how delighted I was when a pair of Chanel flat espadrilles made there way into my hot little hands. Not only are they comfy, stylish and oh so fabulous, they will be perfect for pounding the NYC pavement. With less than one week til we set off (I couldn't be more excited if i tried!!!) here's a look at some of the other fabulous things I am putting into my suitcase. There is something funny about coming to London to work on Australian SS12, and find it raining. And cold. Although I guess it is London, so what can I expect! Apparently it's been raining for the past month, and while I love to rug up and enjoy the London winters (hello cosy uggs on my feet and yummy mulled wine!), I was really hoping for some sunshine. Puddles aside, its been the perfect weather to team my wear with anything leather leggings with this seasons coolest (or should that be hottest!?) new trends. While I have always been a leather jacket girl, I'm really loving anything leather right now. I especially have a massive crush on this All Saints jacket in gorgeous metallic, but would also love to try this Oasis leather skirt in too cute pastels. What a perfect way to bring leather to your summer wardrobe! x K

As summer becomes a distant memory, and the crisp autumn air (and rain!) sets in, I constantly look in my wardrobe and deem I have nothing to wear! And with Melbourne often churning up four seasons in one day (my wedding day, being a classic example of that!) it pays to be able to layer up your summer pieces, for a tran-seasonal update that will take you all the way through to winter. My summer days are spent living in dresses, especially maxi dresses, so I love that this leather bust maxi dress is wow enough on it's own for balmy summer nights, but equally fabulous when teamed with a faux fur gilet when the temperatures turn cool. For extra winter warmth, add a cardi underneath, giving you a contrast sleeve that's so on trend right now. Mix with boots and tights and you'll see more life out of your maxis than you ever thought possible x K

Nothing says lady like glamour more than pleats, so I was extremely excited to find this dress almost forgotten in the back of my wardrobe. The spearmint hue, micro print and fine pleat skirt make this dress very perfect for right now. I couldn't resist toughening up the look with a faux fur gilet and ankle boots. Whats not to love? x K

I know easter was a few weeks back now, but im one of those girls that hoards the chocolate and snacks on it bit by bit (if my hubby doesnt get to it before me!) There is nothing I love more than lindt chocolate bunnies, and even though im normally a dark chocolate girl these few remaining eggs have been very tempting over this past week.
