There is something comforting in this heat in wearing a dress that requires zero effort. And by zero, I mean absolutely zilch. Throw on, and walk out the door kind of dressing. On a recent trip to Byron Bay I was happy to snap up this dress (a proud bargain!) that fit the perfect 'effortless' recipe. Think a simple tie dye print(to satisfy my inner boheme), an easy light weight fabric (perfect for this heat!!) and an extrememly flowy silhouette (to cover all sins). Zero effort dressing. Lets make that a trend x K

Hot. Melbourne. Summer. Enough said, especially considering our current sweltering heat!! Finding the perfect summer frock that is casual enough for day but "hot" enough for night is like my quest for finding dairy free chocolate sorbet. Rare, but necessary for life. But when I literally spotted this Zimmermann Elixir dress on a lady in the supermarket, I couldn't help but stalk it for myself. Cue ringing several Zimmermann stores across Australia (plus two David Jones concessions!!) only to be told it was sold out. Luckily for me, I spotted it some weeks later hidden at the back of the rack and it is now my new perfect summer night date dress (or heck I could even try glammed up supermarket shopping, because it really is that versatile!). Gorgeous print, sexy neckline with subtle cut out detail, and sophisticated below the knee length. It's dress perfection. Now for that sunset... x K

a gypsy summer

This time of year is always so crazy. And it mostly involves me running crazily from place to place, attempting to see everyone for Christmas celebrations, all the while trying to wrap up everything at work (and wrap presents!!), put up the tree, pack for heading down the beach (a family tradition) oh and remember to buy food/eat.

So it's the little moments, like the gorgeous sunset reflecting through the trees in the Melbourne streets, that remind me to take a moment to just stop and breathe. (Yes, while guzzling a smoothie at the same time - a girl has to multi task!) This (finally!!!) hot weather has given me a reason to finally break out some new summer pieces, and I am loving this Gypsy05 silk maxi dress. A gorgeous tribal inspired print, that I know I will love for seasons to come. Ahhhh got to love Melbourne in summer. Just remember to breathe x K

the ombre effect

There is something about ombre that screams wear me. WEAR ME NOW! It instantly makes me feel, hmmm special....?! Like a simple skirt can be, oh i don't know, WOW!!? I saw this skirt as I walked through Top Shop (the completely overwhelming flagship on Oxford St) towards the ladies room, and I honestly think I started skipping in excitement when I saw it. It was a classic I can't walk past you must buy you right this second purchase. And to tell you the truth, today I needed to wear it. It brought a smile to my face. Put a perk in my step. Gave me some chaaaa-ching!!! And while the cold weather has seen me pair it with a pale blush oversize cozy knit (similar here), today I couldn't resist a soft as butter charcoal marle tank and this old as the hills grey leather jacket. A perfect transition towards this summer we don't seem to be having!!! Maybe come true summer I will even break it out with some sparkly flats. Yep ombre, it's todays happiness. (Almost as good as hubby cooking me dinner) x K

Dressing up is something I love. So dressing up to take photos for my blog, is nothing out of the ordinary. Whatever I am loving, or wearing to death, is what I want to blog about. At the moment I am obsessed with white, (as you can tell by my recent blog post on white here) but I am especially loving white lace. Enter Zara. This white lace dress is perfect for the ridiculous almost 100 degree days we are experiencing here in New York. Gorgeous lace detail, perfect length for both flats or a cute wedge and yet breezy enough to endure the scorching heat of day (and night!). If only my camera was that resilient! Yep, my camera failed on me today. Mid shot at the 9/11 World Trade Centre Memorial. Black screen = camera fail. Who knew?! So what was supposed to be an afternoon photo op from Central Park, ended up a spontaneous iPhone post as we waited for the subway. One thing I have learnt in my time here?? New York is never predictable. Gotta love it. x K

Block heels are having a massive moment. And because I completely struggle to walk in a) massive high heels and b) any heel that doesn't represent a balancing platform the size of a tree trunk, I am in shoe heaven. Loving the wear with everything nude hue of these (my latest purchase, thanks Zara!), and the perspex heel adds extra wow. They are like candy for my feet x K

But I also love these color blocked Christian Louboutins if you dare, these amazing perspex heels from Stella (sigh!), or these ever more affordable (yet still amazing) metallic heels from Topshop. You can't go wrong!

I have to admit it's not hard to work when it is 28 degrees. Shopping in the sunshine, what's not to love? Los Angeles has so far been the perfect mix of summer weather, Californian inspiration and a more chilled out vibe as I round up the trip. My go-to shopping outfit can only be described as stylish comfort. I'm loving these amazingly comfy cute ballet flats (I am totally crushing on everything metallic right now), and mixed back with a Prada influenced retro skirt (could I love the tropical scenery of this print anymore?) I feel instantly glam. A simple white tank and vintage bag are the perfect way to round out the outfit. Yep, I am all about Californication x K

For my 21st birthday, I had a kiddy party. Think fairy floss and snow cones, and all things girly and fun. (Shall I also mention that for my wedding I wanted a Mr. Whippy Van, but my husband deemed that ridiculous!) So needless to say I am a fan of all things sugary and sweet. And that's exactly how London is making me feel right now. Think retro style quirky prints (hello Prada car print) and sugary pastels so tempting they make you want to eat candy all day long! Winter is well and truly on its way here in Melbourne, and while we all reach for our chunky knits, resist buying a million new pairs of boots and drink (well i do!) copious amounts of soy hot chocolates, I thought this was a good time to reflect on summer and start my new adventure, this blog! Welcome to fabulous for the fabulous, a place where i hope to inspire you with all things... well fabulous. This summer, I was lucky enough to spend an amazing month travelling around the US, Canada and the Carribean with my family. It was the perfect combination of amazing sunsets, a white christmas, way too many cocktails and the fun jump between wearing snow gear one day to beautiful dresses the next. And while im always one to plan another adventure before my first one has even started (hello new york in less than two months), this weather has got me in the mood to re-live my fantastic trip. I hope you enjoy my favourite snaps and that they bring a little summer back to your fabulous life x K
